The FT-2980R provides a total of 221 memory channels, including 200 “regular” memories, ten pairs of band-limit memories, and an instant-recall “Home” channel you can dedicate to a frequently-used repeater or simplex frequency. Memories can store repeater shift information, CTCSS/DCS data, power output level, scanning status (“Skip”), and Alpha-Numeric labels.

Building on the success of their FT-2900R, Yaesu FT-2980R 80W 2M FM Mobile Transceivers are ruggedly-built 2 meter rigs with up to 80 watts of output power. No fan is required because of Yaesu's die-cast chassis/heat-sink design.

Four power levels are available: 5, 10, 30 and 80 watts. FT-2980R transceivers are certified to MIL-STD 810. These rugged FT-2980R rigs are very similar to the FT-2900R in features and capabilities, but transmit at higher power. Three watts of receiver audio output ensures that the operator can enjoy quality reception in noisy environments.Note: Transceiver can be modified by certified tech for " MARS " mod!
