LOT # A-23
A very scarce CB radio , made back in the 1960's era , when Lafayette USA, had a version of the Courier Chied 23 made in their own line of communication radios.
This CB radio includes a Complete VHF Tunable Receiver inside and can also use the installation of a pair of different X-Tals for extra frequencies.. One of a kind!
In a CABINET about the size of the average solid-state mobile CB Transceiver the Lafayette Telsat-150 combines a CB transceiver and a VHF police/fire/emergency service receiver . Sharing a common power supply and audio amplifier / modulator , the transceiver and receiver are
otherwise independant of each other. The Transceiver features 23 channel coverage , adjustable squelch , external-speaker jack and TVI filter.
CB performance measurements were 0.6uv, sensitivity; 41dB adjacent-channel rejection;3.5 watts RF output; average microphone sensitivity,
effective 100% modulation limiting and the best receive and transmit audio quality.
The VHF receiver has variable tuning from 150 to 174 Mhz or two crystal-controlled frequencies.
As with the VHF front end , the VHF IF amplifier is independantof the CB section. VHF variablesquelchalso is independant of the CB one.
Frequency stability is excellent , making the VHF crystal positions unnecessary. The audio is exceptionally clean. When sold originally , the units sold for $199.95 US Dollars.
